Had an amazing day with Jerry in the tour! I was taken in an adventure in Chengdu, eating delicious Sichuan food, playing mahjong with local aunties, and learning so much about this beautiful city. Felt like I was hanging out with an old friend!
Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Sichuan!!
Great tour for people interested in mahjong! We booked the tour with a transfer, our guide Lance picked us up and we took DiDi to north Chengdu, very quiet, leafy, residential part of the city. Tour started at the local market where we (Lance) bought some snacks to have with tea during the game. From the market we walked to their office where we played mahjong for about 2+ hours. It’s a small room with a real (mechanical) mahjong table and Lance taught us Sichuan version which is btw much much easier then the western or Cantonese or maybe Lance is a very good teacher:). It’s a great way to spend a few hours in Chengdu, not just for mahjong but also to be introduced to the different part of the city, definitely recommended!
I had the BEST time!!! My teacher and guide, Lance was more like a good friend than anything else. We first wandered around a local wet market and I learned about different Chengdu spices, vegetables and foods. Passed by numerous mahjong tea shops before getting to ours. After reviewing the rules we played for several hours while snacking on coffee, tea and fresh items purchased in the market. I had soooo much fun!!! Laughed a lot!!
Lance and another Chinese friend were friendly, patient and encouraging. Lance’s English was wonderful but he also helped me with my (bad) mandarin. Can’t recommend cool chili and lance any more highly
