9:00 AM: Hotel Pick up (You can also leave us a message telling us what time you want to leave.)

Meet your friendly driver simply in your Chengdu hotel lobby in the morning and then head to Leshan, relax on the way and enjoy beautiful countryside view. After a smooth 2-hour drive, you will arrive at the Leshan Giant Buddha. 

11:00 AM: Leshan Giant Buddha 

As the UNESCO Sites, construction of the Leshan Buddha, begun in the year 713 in the Tang Dynasty, and finished in the year 803, the statue took people more than 90 years to carve. During these years, thousands of workers had expended their efforts and wisdom on the project. As the biggest carved stone Buddha in the world, the Giant Buddha is featured in poetry, song and story. With us you can explore the whole area and admire Giant Buddha from different angle.

You’ll have the flexibility to choose your preferred activity:    

-Hike up the scenic mountain paths to get a closer view of the Buddha.

First, visit Lingyun Temple which located at the Grand Buddha’s head. Marvel at the elaborate construction of the Buddha's coiled hair, which is made up of around 1,020 twisted buns. Walk inside and marvel at the intricate sculptures and wall designs of the temple. Then absorb panoramic views of three rivers converging prettily below.Then, walk down the left side of the Grand Buddha. When you reach the bottom, gasp at the 71-meter height of the largest carved Buddha in the entire world and capture fantastic photographs of the sacred site.

-Take a boat cruise to admire the Buddha from the water (recommended for an unforgettable view of the statue).    

To skip the steps you can take a ship and get a full view picture of Leshan Buddha.

-Or, if you wish, you can do both activities in any order, depending on your preferred pace.  

12:00 PM: Free Exploration  

Continue exploring the area on your own. You can visit nearby temples, enjoy the natural beauty, and take photos of the stunning surroundings. Your time at the Leshan Giant Buddha is self-paced, so you decide when you want to leave.

1:00 PM: Optional Lunch (if desired)  

If you’d like, take a break and enjoy lunch at one of the nearby restaurants offering traditional Chinese meals.  

2:00 PM: Return to Chengdu  
After your visit, your driver will take you back to Chengdu, where you’ll arrive at your hotel around 4:00 PM.
