Itinerary 

Day 1:  Arrival in the "City of Sunshine"

Upon arrival in Lhasa Airport (3,650m), our Tibetan-English guide and driver will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Rest and acclimatize to the high altitude.

Day 2:  Lhasa’s Spiritual Core

Morning

Potala Palace: Visit Tibet’s most iconic landmark, a UNESCO World Heritage Site blending palace, fortress, and monastery architecture.

Chakpori Thousand Buddha Clif: Marvel at the vibrant 7th-century cliffside Buddha carvings commissioned by King Songtsen Gampo, expanded over centuries into a breathtaking spiritual gallery.

Afternoon

Jokhang Temple: Pay homage to the sacred 12-year-old life-sized Buddha statue brought by Princess Wencheng, witnessing pilgrims’ profound devotion. 
Barkhor Street Citywalk:  Walk the 1,300-year-old pilgrimage route alongside devotees performing full-body prostrations, absorbing the spiritual energy of ancient stone paths.

Thangka/Tibetan Incense Workshop (Choose 1 out of 2): 
A. Tibetan Incense: Craft traditional incense using cypress, musk, sandalwood, and other natural ingredients. 
B. Thangka Painting:  Create your own miniature Thangka under a master artist’s guidance, using mineral pigments and gold leaf.

Evening

Enjoy a local dinner followed by a commemorative photo/video session with the illuminated Potala Palace as your backdrop.

Day 3: Mountain Sanctuaries & Epic Drama

Morning

Follow the secret passage of the Tibetan Empire (Tubo Dynasty) toward the mystical cliffside realm and visit:

Drak Yerpa Monastery: Explore cliff-carved meditation caves linked to Padmasambhava, hidden in a sacred valley along ancient Tibetan trade routes.

Ganden Monastery:  Navigate the crimson-walled labyrinth of Gelugpa Buddhism’s founding monastery, where Tsongkhapa’s relics rest amid echoing monastic debates.

Afternoon

Nakchuka Pass: Hang vibrant prayer flags inscribed with your wishes at this 4,200m mountain pass, where fluttering sutras merge with Himalayan winds. 

Evening

Optional outdoor performance Princess Wencheng (additional fee): Watch the epic drama staged against Potala Palace’s silhouette, recounting the Tang Dynasty princess’s 7th-century journey to Tibet. Booking required 24 hours in advance.

Day 4: Blessings & Departure

Morning

Tsangkhung Nunnery (Zhakir Monastery): Participate in Tibetan wealth-blessing rituals at this Gelugpa branch temple, where locals offer hada scarves and barley wine to the deity Tsangkhungma.

Afternoon

Transfer to Lhasa Airport for flights departing after 14:00. Early flights require private transfer (extra cost).

 

Include

  • Tibet travel permit and all other necessary permits to Tibet, and provide official invitation letters to facilitate your Chinese visa application for tourist.
  • All entrance ticket fees for all tourist sites listed in the itinerary, as well as tickets for sightseeing vehicles within the scenic areas.
  • Knowledgeable English-speaking Tibetan local tour guide (For prices of tour guides in other languages, please inquire).
  • All meals listed in the above itinerary.
  • Comfortable tourist vehicle according to the group size.
  • Comfortable Hotel Accommodations at 3-star, 4-star standard. Upgrades are available for an additional fee. 
  • Service Charge & Government Taxes.
  • Tourist accident/casualty insurance.
  • The additional services include portable oxygen, on-board medical oxygen, bottled mineral water, etc.

  • China Visa (If you need visa assistance services, feel free to contact us for more details)
  • International/Domestic flights to/from Lhasa.
  • The ticket fees for tourist attractions not included in the itinerary.
  • Single Room Supplement: Hotels default to double occupancy with twin-bedded rooms. If you prefer a single room or room sharing isn't possible, a single room supplement is necessary.
  • Meals not specified in the itinerary, usually it costs about USD3-15 per person for one meal in TAR (Tibet Autonomous Region).
  • Tips for the guide and driver. 
  • Other expenses caused by force majeure events (such as natural disasters, traffic control, loss of valuables, visa delays, flight delays or cancellations, etc.).
  • Personal expenses, like laundry, phone calls, snacks, soft drinks (please do your best to avoid alcoholic beverages during your Tibet trip), optional tour activities, etc.

  1. We guarantee the timely acquisition of mandatory Tibet Travel Permits and invitation letters for foreign nationals. Submitting required documentation through our secure portal 15 days prior to arrival initiates immediate permitauthorization procedures through official channels.
  2. Please provide your passport details for the itinerary arrangement and all documents submitted to Tibetan authorities.
  3. Altitude Advisory: Lhasa sits at 3,650m. Rest on Day 1 is crucial for acclimatization. Consult your doctor before travel.
  4. Potala Palace Note: Visit times may adjust based on ticket availability.
  5. If you are a Bhutanese tourist, please consult in advance according to Chinese policy.

  2. 7-13 days before arrival in Lhasa: ¥400/person fee.
  3. Within 7 days of arrival in Lhasa: ¥600/person fee.
  4. During the trip: Only refund for unused services. We cancel: Full compensation, excludes force majeure (policy changes/natural disasters).

Definitely worth a TRY

Our 4day Tibet Essence tour with Tibet Karma Valley Tour redefined spiritual travel. At Sera Monastery’s debating courtyard, I was invited to toss my questions to the monks – their energetic claps echoed ancient wisdom. But the true revelation came in Lhasa workshop,we joined locals kneading tsampa barley flour with butter tea, learning that clockwise stirring brings good fortune.

Notre voyage de 4 jours au lac Yamdrok a été magique ! La randonnée jusqu'au monastère de Rituo (le "temple le plus solitaire du monde") nous a offert une vue à 360° sur le lac turquoise. Notre guide Tingxiang a rendu la culture tibétaine vivante avec ses histoires. Attention : prévoyez des vêtements chauds au col de Gampa La– le vent glacial contraste avec l’accueil chaleureux des bergers !
