In ancient times a short horizontal was placed on a long horizontal to indicate 'top' The ancient written form of “天” is in the formation of “大 ”’with a horizontal on the top, meaning that 'sky is overhead' Associative idea characters：Associative idea characters also translated as logical aggregates or associative compounds, these characters have been interpreted as combining two or more pictographic or ideographic characters to suggest a third meaning. Pictophonetic characters:Pictophonetic characters are by far the most numerous characters. These characters are composed of at least two parts. The pictographic component suggests the general meaning of this character and the phonetic component suggests the pronunciation of this character. In our class, students can explore three main styles: Regular Script (Kai Shu), Running Script (Xing Shu), and Cursive Script (Cao Shu). Regular Script is neat, symmetrical, and clear. It's the most formal and structured among the three styles. So, it's a great starting point for beginners. In Regular Script, every stroke is clearly defined. The characters are written in a regular and orderly way, with a consistent size and shape. Running Script, however, is more fluid and dynamic. It combines elements of Regular Script and Cursive Script. Some strokes are connected and simplified to be written faster and more efficiently. Running Script allows for more personal expression while still keeping the characters readable. Cursive Script is the most free - form and expressive of the three styles. It has highly abbreviated and connected strokes. There's often a sense of wild abandon and spontaneity. Cursive Script needs a high level of skill and a good knowledge of the characters.
