Itinerary

10:00 AM – Meet at Futian Station, Exit A12

Futian Station is the biggest underground train station in Asia—about the size of 21 football fields and served by five subway lines. During the 2024 summer rush (July 1st to August 31st), it handled nearly 1.5 million passengers. It only takes 14 minutes to get to Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Station and 32 minutes to Guangzhou South Station.

At 10:10, take public transportation from Futian Metro Station to Lianhuashan.

Futian Metro Station is located on Shenzhen’s Line 3, which was completed in 2011 as a transportation hub built for the Universiade. It reflects the stories of Shenzhen’s development both inside and outside the city’s original boundaries. Here, you can purchase single-journey tickets using traditional methods or take advantage of the seamless convenience of Alipay and WeChat Pay, experiencing the ease of traveling with just one code.

10:20 AM – Shuttle from Lianhuashan South Gate to the Top of the Mountain

10:35 AM – Lianhuashan Mountain Top – Kite Square

Lianhuashan Park started building in 1992 and opened to the public in 1997. It’s named for its seven peaks that come together like a blooming lotus. At the top, you can check out the Deng Xiaoping statue and get a panoramic view of Shenzhen’s skyline, the heart of China’s fastest-growing city. Then, stroll down the mountain trails, pass through the famous Kite Square, and watch people enjoying one of China’s favorite outdoor activities—kite flying.

11:00 AM – Walk Down to the South Gate and Head Through Civic Center Square to the Shenzhen Industrial Museum

11:20 AM – Visit the Shenzhen Industrial Museum

Built in 1985, the Shenzhen Industrial Museum is a key spot for national leaders and foreign dignitaries visiting Shenzhen. It’s won awards like “Outstanding Contributor to Shenzhen’s Convention and Exhibition Industry in 30 Years of Reform and Opening Up” and “Meritorious Achievement in Promoting Shenzhen’s Conference and Exhibition Industry Development in 30 Years of Reform and Opening Up.” Each floor has different themes, including the National Industrial Internet Platform Innovation Center, Global 5G Innovation Expo, and Shenzhen Robotics Industry Showcase. Here, you can experience the latest in industrial technology.

12:00 PM – Head to the Metro Food Court

Pick from Burger King / Subway / Local Noodles and more.

1:00 PM – Take the Metro to Huaqiangbei

1:10 PM – 3:00 PM – Deep Dive into China’s No.1 Electronics Street

Huaqiangbei Market is a perfect example of Shenzhen’s market-driven, rapidly growing grassroots innovation. If you want to get a feel for Shenzhen’s innovation scene and its fast pace, the first stop has to be the world’s largest electronics market. Back in 1979, a northern Guangdong munitions factory moved to Shenzhen and was named “Huaqiang,” meaning “China is strong.” In January 1981, the Shenzhen Electronics Building was completed—a 20-story, 69.9-meter skyscraper that became the first landmark of the Special Economic Zone. In Huaqiangbei, aside from the legend of assembling a computer in four minutes, you'll find endless electronic gadgets, affectionately dubbed the “Center of the Universe” by locals.

The tour starts at Seg Technology Park, where Tencent had its first office; then we’ll visit the Huaqiangbei Museum to learn about its history; next, head to Huaqiang Electronics World, China’s largest and most comprehensive electronics market; and finally, after passing the former tallest building, we'll go up to the observation deck on the 71st floor of Seg Plaza to get a full view of Huaqiangbei.

3:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Hang Out with Locals at Huaqiangbei Market or Explore on Your Own

Feel free to continue exploring Huaqiangbei Market with some local friends or take some time to wander around on your own.
